ShopScope Privacy Policy

How CrispShift collects, uses, stores, and protects information when you use the ShopScope browser extension.

Last updated: September 17, 2026

ShopScope collects only the minimum data needed to show product and pricing information on shopping pages you visit. We do not sell user data, and we do not use it for purposes unrelated to that single purpose.

1. Introduction

This Privacy Policy explains how CrispShift ("we", "us", or "our") collects, uses, and protects information in connection with ShopScope (the "Extension"), a browser extension distributed through the Chrome Web Store.

This policy is written to comply with the Chrome Web Store Developer Program Policies, including the User Data Policy. By installing or using ShopScope, you agree to the practices described here.

2. Single Purpose of the Extension

ShopScope has a single, narrow purpose: helping shoppers view product and pricing information on retail websites they visit, so they can make more informed purchase decisions.

Every permission the Extension requests is used only to support that purpose. We do not request broad host or data access beyond what is required for ShopScope's core features.

3. Information We Collect

ShopScope is designed to collect the minimum information necessary to function. Depending on the features you use, we may process:

  • Extension settings and preferences you configure
  • Product, price, and page-context information from the shopping page you are actively viewing, used only to display ShopScope's on-page features
  • Basic technical information such as browser type, extension version, and error/diagnostic logs used to keep the Extension working correctly
  • Support communications you send us, such as emails requesting help

4. Information We Do Not Collect

ShopScope does not collect the following categories of data, and never sells any data it does collect:

  • No health information
  • No financial or payment card information
  • No account passwords or authentication credentials
  • No personal communications (email, chat, or messaging content)
  • No precise or coarse location data
  • No general browsing history outside of the shopping pages where the Extension actively runs

5. How We Use Information

Any information ShopScope processes is used only to:

  • Provide and display ShopScope's core on-page shopping features
  • Remember your Extension settings and preferences between sessions
  • Diagnose errors, maintain performance, and improve reliability
  • Respond to support requests you send us

6. How We Share Information

We do not sell, rent, or trade user data. We do not use or transfer user data for purposes unrelated to ShopScope's single purpose, and we do not use or transfer user data to determine creditworthiness or for lending purposes, consistent with the Chrome Web Store User Data Policy's "Limited Use" requirements.

We may share limited information with service providers who help us operate infrastructure (such as hosting or error monitoring) strictly to support the Extension, and only under confidentiality obligations.

We may disclose information if required by law, to protect the rights, safety, or property of CrispShift or our users, or in connection with a merger, acquisition, or sale of assets, subject to this policy continuing to apply.

7. Data Storage and Security

Settings and preferences are generally stored locally in your browser using the browser's extension storage APIs. Any information transmitted to CrispShift is protected using reasonable administrative, technical, and organizational safeguards.

No method of transmission or storage is completely secure, and we cannot guarantee absolute security, but we work to maintain industry-appropriate protections for any data ShopScope processes.

8. Data Retention

We retain information only for as long as necessary to provide ShopScope's features, respond to support requests, or comply with legal obligations.

Locally stored settings remain on your device until you change them, clear your browser data, or uninstall the Extension.

9. Permissions We Request

Chrome extensions must request permissions to function. ShopScope only requests permissions that are directly tied to its single purpose described above (for example, reading page content on supported shopping sites so ShopScope can display product and pricing information).

You can review the exact permissions ShopScope requests, and revoke them at any time, from your browser's extension management page.

10. Children's Privacy

ShopScope is not directed at children under 13, and we do not knowingly collect personal information from children. If you believe a child has provided us with information, contact us and we will take appropriate steps to remove it.

11. Third-Party Services and Websites

ShopScope operates on third-party retail websites that you choose to visit. Those websites have their own privacy policies and practices, which are not controlled by CrispShift.

If ShopScope ever integrates a third-party service (for example, for crash reporting or analytics), that service's use of data is governed by its own privacy policy, and we only enable such integrations consistent with the limits described in this policy.

12. Your Rights and Choices

Depending on your location, you may have rights to access, correct, delete, or restrict certain processing of your information.

You can clear locally stored settings at any time through your browser's extension or site data settings. To make a privacy-related request about any data held by CrispShift, contact us at the email below.

13. Uninstalling ShopScope

If you uninstall ShopScope, your browser removes the Extension's locally stored settings and preferences.

Any limited diagnostic or support data we hold may be retained for a short period for security, legal compliance, or backup purposes, after which it is deleted or anonymized where practicable.

14. Changes to This Policy

We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. When we do, we will revise the "Last updated" date on this page.

We encourage users to review this policy periodically to stay informed about how ShopScope handles information.
